Events inspired by the collective learning programs in MELLY, where cultural expertise is shared through artistic exchange.

I KNOW TEN THOUSAND WOMEN
4 May 2020

Dancers EVELYN BAKKER and CHANEL VYENT remotely shared their thoughts on identity and the art of body movement. In this lyrical video, experience their exchange.

This event is part of “Sessions: The Human Family” program series in MELLY at Witte de With. Begun earlier this year, and generally organized as live events, this series is inspired by MAYA ANGELOU and her eponymous written poetry piece. Sessions kicked-off last year at MELLY and focuses on creating personal reflection, community connections, and sense of belonging.

SURVIVING THE QUARANTINE
15 May 2020, 4–5 pm

Watch the Fellow Session live event here, where Kunstenbond advisor MICHAEL KLIER shared financial tips for musicians in these times of social isolation. This event took place on Zoom and was live streamed on Facebook.

MICHAEL KLIER is a music coach and writing trainer. During this event he will speak about the "Know what you are worth" training with a short introduction on topics such as: negotiation, prices, contracts and what the art association can do for its members. He is happy to answer questions from other attendees.

This event was organized by collective learning fellow TAYLER CALISTER, hosted by WILBERT SLAGBOOM and in collaboration with Vocalsz Foundation.

WE ARE MORE ALIKE, MY FRIENDS
4 May 2020

Spoken word artists TOMASHII, CHERY, IVAN WORDS, BE ROMY and CEYDA remotely shared their performances about our current situation, family and the art of poetry. These performers have conceptualized their visions on camera; experience here a video edited by curator of collective learning JESSY KOEIMAN, with support from collective learning fellow BAN TAWFIQ. This concept is in collaboration with stichting SpraakuhlooS.
